In ancient times, people believed that a tiger-shaped pillow could ward off evil and suppress panic. Tiger images and tiger culture have deeply penetrated into the spiritual life of the Chinese nation and become an indispensable part of Chinese civilization.
In order to welcome the Year of the Tiger, the Nanyue King Museum specially selected 19 pillow collections (sets) to demonstrate tiger culture and the art of the tiger pillow, including 3 first-class cultural relics, 3 second-class cultural relics, and 3 third-class cultural relics. In addition, the tri-colored tiger-shaped poetry-carved pillow that is on display firstly, a cloth pillow and other exquisite cultural relics are also on display.

New Year pop-up shop (新年主題快閃店)

This pop-up shop is jointly held by Fangsuo commune, Guangdong Museum, and Zhiliao cultural creative products. The visual design is inspired by the Xiguan Mansion (西關大屋), a representative of Lingnan architecture, which will provide an immersive experience for you.
The original animated image of a tiger named "福虎" is the mascot of the shop. With window paper cutting, retro objects and other festive elements, as well as the unique structure of Xiguan Mansion, the shop is full of Lingnan characteristics. Special New Year gift sets, Cantonese red envelope sets, couplets and satchels are all available here.

Foshan Shiwan Ceramic sculpture Zodiac Cultural exhibition in Year of the Tiger(?；⑻硪怼鹕绞癁程账芑⒛晟の幕?

Jointly held by Guangdong Museum and Guangdong Shiwan Ceramics Museum, this exhibition displays a total of 70 pieces (sets) of real objects in chronological order from primitive society to modern society. With Foshan Shiwan ceramic sculptures, paper cuttings, pictures and text, it explains the rich connotation of tiger culture and the Chinese zodiac, as well as various folk customs related to the tiger.
